Introduction
#Thanks to everyone, this October marks the 5th anniversary of the launch of the Mamezou Developer Site.

Mameka celebrating the 5th anniversary
The launch announcement was on November 29, 2021.
Since we had been gradually accumulating content before that and making an announcement, our first article was an October 7 tutorial on building EKS with K8s.
The Journey Over the Past 5 Years
#Let's look back on these past five years. In the initial phase, including myself, two people built the site and wrote articles.
Number of Articles and Authors Over Time
#| Period | Number of Articles | Number of Authors (Cumulative) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2021-11 | 15 articles | 2 authors | Launch |
| 2022-03 | 53 articles | 4 active writers / 7 total | First review |
| 2022-05 | Reached 100 articles | 5 active authors | |
| 2022-08 | Surpassed 200 articles | 19 authors (9 active) | Accelerated growth from 100 to 200 |
| 2022-12 | 318 articles | 28 authors (over 10 active) | Updated almost every weekday |
| 2023-12 | 522 articles | 34 authors | Surpassed 500 articles in 2 years since launch |
| 2024-06 | 590 articles | 56 authors | |
| 2024-12 | 680 articles | 63 authors | |
| 2025-06 | 769 articles | 66 authors | |
| 2025-09 | 809 articles | 71 authors | Surpassed 800 articles |
| 2025-12 | 843 articles | 75 authors | |
| 2026-03 | 876 articles | 76 authors | |
| 2026-09 (latest) | 912 articles | 83 authors | Surpassed 900 articles |
The two authors at launch grew to five by May 2022, reaching 100 articles, and by June they recorded a monthly high of 36 articles, gaining momentum. In August 2022, they surpassed 200 articles, and by year-end had grown to 28 authors (over 10 active).
By the end of 2023, the article count reached 522, surpassing 500 exactly two years after the site's launch. Search traffic also steadily increased, reaching 50,000 clicks per month in March 2023, boosting our recognition.
Growth continued, and by September 2025 we had surpassed 800 articles and 71 authors. As of September 2026, we have reached 912 articles and 83 authors. This milestone reflects the accumulation of articles leveraging each person's interests, concerns, and expertise.

Trends in article and author counts

Evergreen and Viral Articles
#The site's recognition and traffic have been supported by both articles that go viral immediately after publication and those that continue to attract stable traffic years after release. Here are some representative examples:
- Tauri: A Desktop Application Framework with Rust
- Intuition in Revolt Against Reason! The 'Monty Hall Problem'
- Understanding JWTs and JWT Authentication Mechanisms from the Basics
- Recommended: The Hand-Drawn Style Drawing Tool Excalidraw
- For Beginners: Recommended Settings and Usage of A5:SQL Mk-2
- Character Encodings You Must Remember: Shift JIS Edition
Evolution of the Site Infrastructure and Features
#We have made steady improvements to enhance the experience for both readers and authors. We added many features, including a table of contents, image magnification, author avatar display, on-site search (later replaced by Algolia), tag search, support for mathematical formulas (KaTeX), recommended articles, and weekly access rankings.
We also went through a major technological shift in our static site generator, migrating from Eleventy to the Deno-based Lume.
While drafting this article, an announcement arrived that Deno will end development in one year.

Since we're using Lume, we'll keep an eye on future developments and act as appropriate.
Our Journey with Generative AI
#These five years have also been a journey alongside the evolution of generative AI.
- In 2023, we launched the front-page column 'Mameka's Trivia' using GPT-3. Since then, Mameka has undergone successive generational updates with GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo, and GPT-4o (writing this article reminded me that we forgot to update to GPT-5 😅).
- In 2024, we added a feature to automatically generate sidebar illustrations for articles using DALL·E 3. Mameka also plays an active role internally by commenting on article PRs and notifying us of access statistics.
- In 2024, we began automatically generating English translations of articles (now many articles are available in English), and in 2025 we added Chinese translations, gradually increasing access from overseas.
I believe that the active integration of generative AI into the operation of our in-house media is also a characteristic unique to this site.
Annual Events and Community Building
#Initiatives to broaden the range of contributors have also become established.
- Advent Calendar: First held in 2022 (16 participants, 7 of whom were first-time contributors), and since then has become an annual year-end tradition.
- Summer Relay Series: First held in 2023 (14 posts, 11 new contributors, including sales staff and new graduates debuting).
- Spring Series for Newcomers: First held in 2024, creating a platform for articles aimed at new engineers and project managers.
Through these initiatives, members who normally do not write have been given an opportunity to debut, contributing to the current increase in the number of authors.
Integration with Social Media and Other Channels
#Starting with the launch of the official X (formerly Twitter) account, we've expanded our communication channels to Bluesky, Facebook, and note. Authors have also had opportunities to present at external conferences such as JJUG CCC, creating a virtuous cycle where articles lead to external presentations.
We also feature highlight articles on Mamezou's news page.
Impact on Sales and Recruiting
#By continuously writing articles, the developer site has also come to function as a platform for engineers to showcase their individual skills and areas of expertise. In fact, there have been cases where clients who read articles have reached out to authors by name, leading directly to new orders.
In mid-career recruiting, more candidates say they read the developer site articles, and we feel that our technical publications are definitely yielding results in recruitment as well.
Future Prospects
#As we celebrate the 5th anniversary, the developer site is already gearing up for a redesign. It will be reborn as a more readable and modern site. Aiming for a UI that offers "minimal noise and maximal focus on technical information" for most readers, we plan to enhance article page readability and add native support for dark mode. We will also proceed with the implementation process itself using the latest AI-Driven Development approach. By positioning the site as an "internal project for the practical deployment of generative AI," we intend to take another step forward in our journey with generative AI.
Regarding content, we aim to further enrich it by not only providing development tips but also enhancing topics we are working on and those likely to interest our readers, such as robotics and generative AI. We will continue annual initiatives like the Advent Calendar, the Summer Relay Series, and the Spring Series for Newcomers, continually creating opportunities for members who have not yet debuted as writers. Additionally, by expanding our English and Chinese translations, we want to deliver Mamezou's technical content not only domestically but also to engineers overseas.
Over the next five and ten years, we want to continue nurturing the site as a "useful resource for development" and as a media outlet that conveys the technical capabilities and character of Mamezou as a company.
In Closing
#That concludes our look back at the 5th anniversary of the Mamezou Developer Site. When I reflect on it, I am deeply moved that the writing team has grown from two members at launch to 83, and that over 900 articles have been published. We have come this far thanks to all the authors who have written articles from time to time, and above all, to you, our readers, for continuing to read them. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude.
Moving into the 6th year and beyond, we want to continue being a media outlet that consistently delivers real-world technical experiences. Thank you for your continued support of the Mamezou Developer Site.
